Not exactly, if the question refers specifically to aliens and other kinds of sci-fi paranormal things, rather than "the supernatural." (That is to say, aliens rather than ghosts, for example.) As for the latter, I've documented those on the "scariest thing that has ever happened to you" thread in this category ("Paranormal"). I've never seen a UFO, but my uncle swears that he saw one right in front of him that hovered over the lawn. As I am not the person to whom the incident occurred, I cannot vouch for its veracity, but I know he was quite serious about it. I once had a strange circumstance a few weeks ago with my (analog) wristwatch, which worked perfectly fine until one day, in the middle of the afternoon, when I noticed that it was an hour behind the actual time. I first chocked it off to Daylight Savings until I realized that Daylight Savings didn't occur until Mar. 12 (yesterday). I don't really have an answer for it, except maybe that the watch's batteries are running low and that that caused it to be off. Funny thing about that, though, is that the watch operated fine that morning and hasn't lost any time since. Nothing paranormal per se, but interesting all the same.

Do you know who Art Bell is? This is one of the coolest ufo/abduction stories.

Yes, I experienced a poltergeist once. I didn't see any actual ghosts but I did see an object (a picture) swing back and forth and then fly off a wall- not merely fall. I also heard strange sounds coming from within the house and a TV set turned on by itself in the middle of the night. Ghosts are very rarely seen during poltergeists. Usually poltergeists just involve objects moving around by themselves via invisible hands. Some people have suggested that psychokinesis, the alleged ability to move physical objects with the mind, played a role in my "haunting". In other words, I somehow psychically willed the object to fall from the wall and the TV to turn on by itself. If that was the case then I'm unaware of my own psychic abilities. For the record, I don't do drugs and I very rarely drink alcohol and I'm not prone to hallucinating. However, I was under extreme stress at the time and worrying about a health issue, those factors may have played a role in the events that occurred. According to some paranormal experts, people are often more susceptible to paranormal and/or psychic phenomenon when under stress.

Well, if that's true, then it explains all the ghostly/paranormal/psychic phenomena that have happened to me, because I'm always under stress! Seriously, though, while I tend to be skeptical about individual events, I am open to the possibility of the existence of the paranormal. I find that the best attitude to take.

Do you know who Art Bell is? This is one of the coolest ufo/abduction stories. I used to love listening to Coast to Coast AM. I heard a lot of wild stories and crazy guests on his show. The events (many unknown) involving people terrorizing him and his family are also odd. Very intriguing radio personality and his shows were often intensely thought provoking.

I was never a 'believer' until I had my little experience and I still wonder if what I encountered was an actual ghost or something else entirely. Nevertheless, I classify my experience as a poltergeist because it had the characteristics of one.

I was at a bar with my boyfriend, and my roommate and her boyfriend. My bf was the jealous type, and not at all happy that I'd exchanged a few (completely innocent, non-flirtatious) words with a few guys there whom I knew. He kept going on about it until I was so frustrated that I slammed my (half-full, first and only, btw) drink on the table. The glass shattered and cut my hand; I bled all over my *favorite* purse and pair of pants. Took a cab home. The next day I picked up the pants, figuring I might get the blood out if I soaked them, and the purse, knowing it was a lost cause. There wasn't a speck of blood on either item. I thought maybe I'd dreamed the whole thing, but my roommate's jaw dropped in shock when I showed them to her, and my bf called to apologize profusely and swear that he'd somehow find and buy me a duplicate of my ruined purse.
Pretty lame as these things go, I know - would never have made it onto the show! - but I swear this happened, and we were pretty creeped out by it.

Re poltergeist-like activity: I've heard and read a number of times over the years that it often occurs around girls going through puberty. That is, they are not consciously caused by the girls, but something about the hormonal "surges" and accompanying, often very strong, mood changes occurring results in telekinetic movement of objects. Just wondering if others have heard this.

Maybe you cleaned it yourself but you were in such a stricken state that you forgot about it.
Maybe you cleaned it yourself but you were in such a stricken state that you forgot about it.
Nope! My roommate and her boyfriend saw both (still-bloody) items, the bloody pants wadded up, in a corner of the kitchen when they got home. The purse was suede; I wouldn't even have tried to get blood out of it. I'd emptied it out when I got home, and planned to soak the pants in the AM. Didn't do it in my sleep, either - they were still wadded up in the same spot in the morning, bone-dry and blood-free. (We didn't have a dryer.) I've had a few other similar things - small but meaningful (to me,) "miracles" - happen to me over the years, but, with no witnesses involved, I didn't talk about them; I'd sound crazy! As a result, they've slipped my mind. Thanks for reading and commenting on my (pretty dull!) story. (Maybe one day I'll get up the courage to talk about The Returning Incubus. Not as boring!) Wish I could figure out how to set up Notifications! Guess I'll have to ask Tech.
