No, he knew some bare bones stuff about Luke being in exile and handing his saber over. He didn't know the rest until the movie was shot. Mmm-hmm, probably about Rey getting killed and Luke coming back to take over. Or Rey becoming his sidekick. Yeah, and were his great ideas? So you can't even find anything on Hamill's own ideas, like I thought.

Guys since these threads constantly go off topic, maybe we can create a megathread for this debate?

So you can't even find anything on Hamill's own ideas, like I thought. So basically you lied about: * Lucas never intending to do a sequel trilogy. * OT fans never wanting a sequel trilogy made (never posted proof... complaining about certain factors is not proof. Not one clear statement that explicitly says OT fans didn't want the trilogy made). * Luke not being trained to be a pilot. * Luke never being shot up or shot down. * OT fans wanting Rey to be a useless bumbler. Haven't posted one explicit comment of an OT fan saying this. * Rey beating Luke in a duel. * Rose is disliked because she is not an action heroine. Not one explicit statement shown as evidence. * Rose would be disliked if she were an action heroine. Not one explicit statement shown from OT fans to prove it. * OT fans wanted all the ST characters to be useless bumblers. Proven false by the fact that OT fans don't like Finn being a stooge. * Finn being a stooge is a more interesting character than Finn being a skillful ex-Stormtrooper. That contradicts your complaint about allegations that any ST character being inept is a bad thing and unfair. * There's no way (or it's impossible as you put it) to have the Ot stars and ST stars share the spotlight. (Even though Finn and Han shared it in a scene in TLJ without any complaints from OT fans). * OT fans don't want the OT characters and ST characters sharing the spotlight. (This despite the fact that when OT fans in this forum presented ways that they could with their approval... you subsequently claimed it's impossible). * Rey doesn't exhibit wish fulfillment character traits... already debunked in a number of ways. * Implied that OT fans would want to see Daisy Ridley get raped - without one shred of evidence or explicit statement to support it. * Etc... etc... etc. Yet you think that I should dignify you with a response other than a meme that labels you a liar! Go screw yourself! And get the %#!$ off the SW boards and stop spamming with your slanderous, dimwitted nonsense!

Guys since these threads constantly go off topic, maybe we can create a megathread for this debate? They go off topic because every thread gets spammed by that little OT fan slanderer. I appreciate your suggestion. But honestly... it's not going to change anything. He will just flood all of the so-called on-topic threads with the same nonsensical arguments and accusations. He already has.

So it wasn't something he would've done on his own. Complaining about the many, MANY things they dislike is proof enough. Not being trained to fly in formation with other pilots either. Did he get killed like nearly all the other pilots did? No? Then there you have it. You hate that she's got any competencies at all. So to appease you, she must have none. She got made at him when he wasn't willing to put up a real fight, since we saw his power at the end of the film. They hardly had a lightsaber duel. I don't need explicit statements, all the s*** she gets thrown at her is enough to know how unpleasable her detractors are. If he were with Han and was a stooge, you'd eat it up. It's him being a stooge next to Rey or on his own that's the problem because the OT characters aren't there with him. A generic Stoic Badass, who'd get derided anyways for being too tough and too strong. Poor boy just can't win. Uh, Hell yeah there were complaints. "Sharing the spotlight" in that the OT characters are clearly the ones in charge with the ST characters as secondaries who are always being overshadowed. No more than Luke. It's only a matter of time.

Because Rose is a forced character. She basically feels like a checklist of non-stereotype traits that Disney execs ticked off and made into a character.

Here's my opinion on Rose...her entire storyline feels like an EU short story. One that was written to indoctrinate Disney channel watching preteens into fans of their brand of SW.
Rian Johnson realized that he couldn't put Finn on the Achto island with Rey to play a useless stooge sidekick to her. So what does he do with Finn during that entire slow chase through space? They had no intention of developing a relationship with homosexual overtones with Poe. (Another thing they teased with no intention of doing anything with it). He has no purpose as a stooge on the cruiser with Leia, Poe, Holdo and company... So they added this EU short story of Rose, and put Finn it and just have him mirror Rose's every move. It's a side story that is totally worthless to the plot... other than putting Finn in a battle with Phasma that kills off her character.
The irony is that Phasma was just as worthless in TLJ. You could've had her death confirmed as dying in the trash compactor at the end of TFA... the story of TLJ would've barely missed her.

Please, that's the biggest lie of all. The sheer venom the ST and everything associated with it gets says otherwise. You have done nothing but tell lies about OT fans since you came on this message board. And you haven't proven a lick of it. Take your defamatory accusations and psychotic ignorance somewhere else. He was permanently banned, so now he'll have to do just that!

Thank you, to everyone who posted their reasoning behind why they disliked the character or why they wished something else had been done rather than using this new character to hang out with Finn. I didn't particularly love the character, and I find my opinion can change depending on my mood when I'm watching the movie, I just didn't understand why it seemed so many people were vehemently hating her. Granted, I've recently heard the actress may have deleted her social media account(s) over the bullying/harassment she's gotten over her role as Rose-from-Star-Wars, and I found it rather sad to think on. No matter what you think of the character, you figure someone her age (like with the actors playing Finn, Poe, Rey, Maz, etc.), would have grown up watching STAR WARS and having friends who loved the old movies, but she was probably too young to have been in the prequel trilogy and waaaaay too young to have been in the original trilogy, so there would have been a certain level of, "I can't believe I'm in STAR WARS" when she was cast and while she was filming. Then suddenly, the world sees the movie and she becomes the Jar Jar Binks of LAST JEDI, but with the added craziness of everyone being able to go on twitter, tumblr, facebook, youtube, instagram, etc., and talk smack (and in some cases, absolutely trash) that Jar Jar Binks's actor did not have so much of. I mean, can you imagine that? You go from, "Oh my gosh, I'm in STAR WARS and I'm doing a scene with Carrie Fisher!", to, "I can't get on the internet because everyone hates me, I have to be careful when I go get coffee or when I am doing press where there are 'fans' hanging around right by me.", in the span of a year?

PS: I never understood why people hated Jar Jar either. He was always one of my favorites out of the prequel trilogy. Qui-gon, Shmi, Mace, Jar Jar, and Boss.
