March 14th marks the 20th anniversary of "Return of the Jedi: Special Edition". Any of you remember seeing it theaters?
This was the version of Jedi that introduced us to the infamous "Jedi Rocks" segment.

I remember seeing the original version in theatres in '83, and the special edition in theatres in '97.
It's the worst of the special editions, in my opinion....

i saw it in the theater. we thought we were going to see empire actually but i guess it's run ended. so we settled for jedi thinking at least it has leia in a bikini. a new hope was the best experience. the drive home i pretended like my car was an x-wing when i went down a narrow street with the parked cars on both sides. i realize now it was the first time i ever drove home myself from a star wars film.

I didn't see it in the cinema [can't believe it was 20 years ago] but i liked some of the changes but like the other special editions I think they should have gone further in some ways [like updating that unconvincing star destroyer crash]. as for Jedi rocks it was irritating but so was the original song and those muppets were quite bad.

Some of the changes are dumb, but I'll put up with all of them for the new "Victory Celebration" music at the end. A beautiful composition!
