I feel like no matter how awful, pointless, and dissatisfying it could ever be, simply having Star Wars in the title guarantees it to hit over 500M. But I’m optimistic on its quality since seeing the trailers. The world building looks great.

My prediction is that it will make $700-$800 million worldwide, but if I have to choose between those two choices i would pick the under $500 million being more surprising. Early box office tracking pegged it for a $150 million opening domestically, so it's hard to see it making less than 500 worldwide.

Under 500m WW. I'd also be surprised if it gets more than 1 billion, but I think it will at least make 700 million with 800 or maybe even 900 million being the most realistic numbers.

I consider 750 million WW a failure on a 250-300 million dollar budget. ROTS was the last non Disney live action SW film made 750 million WW in 2005 dollars with almost no premium viewing tickets like IMAX.

Its doing bad everywhere and Jurassic World 2 opening soon. Some people believe it could do less than 200m overseas and probably no more than 250m domestic. It could recover domestically as no big openers next week and audiences don't hate Solo like TLJ.

$35 million on it's opening day. That's below block buster numbers. A mild blockbuster at best. If you compare that number to movies with similar numbers, it projects to a range of $550 million down to $350 million domestic.
