Lonely New Yorkers, strangers Jim and Mary meet on a public holiday outing to Coney Island and enjoy all the sideshow attractions in the beautifully composed film Lonesome (1928). Directed by Hungarian born American filmmaker Paul Fejös. the classic film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant"

I love when a character is introduced by a reflection in a window, or water.
Woman in the Window by Fritz Lang has one of my favorite instances of a character being introduced this way.

Bamabi (1942)--He just discovered what he looked like.......... This^ just reminded me of another memorable scene featuring someone looking at their reflection in a pool of water... The Gollum/Sméagol conversation The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003). And another - albeit brief - one in The Lion King (1994). Apparently there's a lot of that going on in Disney animated films...

Mandalay (1934) A moments reflection for world-weary "Spot White" (Kay Francis) in her decadent Asian nightclub. A wonderful pre-code drama from Michael Curtiz with some very creative touches... with a great cast and a highlight as always, Francis dressed in stunning gowns from Orry-Kelly...
