So it’s that time of the year again! Boy, doesn’t time fly. Welcome everyone to the Fourth(?!) Annual IMDB v2.1 OCTOBER HORROR CHALLENGE of 2020.

Straight to business. The goal of this challenge is simple; You got 31 days to watch 31 horror films with a minimum of 14 first-time viewings. Two less first-time viewings this year. Of course you can watch more if you want, but to complete the challenge both tasks go hand-to-hand. Even if you think you won't reach the target. Come and join the fun. As horror fans, or simply getting into the Halloween spirit. It's just cool to see whatever people are watching for the month.

Additional Rules;
* The film must be horror-related. You can use legitimate movie websites to confirm, or if you're still unsure ask your fellow participants on the OCTOBER HORROR CHALLENGE DISCUSSION THREAD. And if still in doubt after using the discussion thread, if you think it’s horror, count it.

* Film must run 50+ mins.

* Documentaries/TV-streaming series do not count.

* You can only count a movie once no matter if there's a theatrical cut, extended cut or TV cut. The only exception to that rule if movie sites like IMDb, Letterboxd etc provide separate pages for different cuts. E.g "Lisa and The Devil" & "The House of Exorcism".

Also can you please record the date of when you complete the challenge.

Please try to keep your posts on this thread concise and edit your original post instead of creating a new post each time, so the thread doesn't become cluttered. On your progress post please provide a list of your viewings indicating what are repeats & first-time viewings. You can give the films a personal rating or recommdations, link reviews or post some thoughts on the film.

The challenge will be resurrected with the blood of 13 virgins @ 12am October 1st and laid to rest in a musty tomb @ 6am November 1st.

So grab a spot, dot down your films and happy horror watching.

First Time Views in Red

October 1 -
The Thing...One of my top 5 horror movies all time. Figured Id start it off right.
The Stuff...very entertaining B movie from the 80s if you don't expect to enjoy it. A surprisingly notable cast too.
October 2 -
An American Werewolf in London...Excellent. The effects are still impressive 40 years later.
The Thing 2011...Nowhere near as good as Carpenters, but still an enjoyable flick.
The Invisible Man...Very good. I was pleasantly surprised by this one. It even leaned into a bit of trypophobia.
I Spit On Your Grave 2...Same formula as the first, but drawn out a bit more on the front end and not quite as enjoyable.
October 3 -
The House on Haunted Hill (1959)...Quite enjoyable. Price is great. The twists were perfect and the movie doesn't waste time.
The Babysitter 2: Killer Queen...Similar to the first in all the good ways. I like this series. E.A. Lind has great cleavage and Ortega is a beautiful girl.
Night of the Demons...good 80s flick with great 80s fake breasts.
October 4 -
Childs Play 2019...I surprisingly really liked it. Chucky is adorable in the first half and it all came together really well, imo.
Childs Play 2....My favorite of the series. I always loved Andy and Kyles relationship, the kills are solid, that warehouse location at the end is great.
Childs Play 3....I always liked the setting...a military prep school or whatever. Other than that its in the bottom half of Chucky films.
October 5 -
Crawl...Decent flick about a father and daughter stuck in their florida crawlspace during a hurricane surrounded by alligators. Kept things tense.
Assimilate...surprisingly enjoyable Body Snatchers ripoff. Its also completely bleak but somehow doesn't feel depressing.
October 6 -
#Alive...I really enjoyed it. A solid trapped survivor zombie flick. Liked that they didn't force a romance on the characters either.
Sleepy Hollow...Love the gothic tones in this one. Depp is solid.
October 7 -
Secret Window...Been a while, very enjoyable. Love the revelation near the end.
October 8 -
Feral...meh...run of the mill camping zombie/werewolf hybrid monster fare. The characters felt way too bland and the creature design felt copied.
Anna and the Apocalypse...this one surprised me, for the better. Christmas Zombie Musical wasn't something i thought i would enjoy but turns out i did.
October 9 -
I Spit on Your Grave 2010...I love it. Favorite part, when the sheriff realizes Jennifer is at his families house.
October 10 -
Halloween....Classic.
Scream....Classic.
A Nightmare on Elm Street...My all time fave.
28 Days Later...Love it.
October 11 -
Leprechaun....Aniston looked nice. Goofy slasher.
Leprechaun 2...Not terrible, nice bewb shot, the plot is simple which is good. More of the same.
October 12 -
Leprechaun 3...Solid for a leprechaun film it seems. Lee Armstrong was pretty hot and the kills were decent.
Leprechaun 4: In Space...Probably the hottest cast so far...Rebekah Carlton, Jessica Collins and Debbe Dunning were all smoking!
October 13 -
Leprechaun in the Hood...I was waiting for the bottom to drop out of this series....and here we are.
Leprechaun Back 2 the Hood...These 90 minutes felt like 4 hours.
October 14 -
Silence of the Lambs...sometimes i forget how amazing Anthony Hopkins is in this. Foster is also great.
Red Dragon...still solid, its been a while.
October 15 -
Scre4m...I always enjoy it but the amount of characters that act suspicious is at an all time high for a Scream movie.
October 16 -
Hatchet...the rich girl from Adams Family Values grew up and shows her knackers off! Nice. Stupid ending tho.
October 17 -
Hubie Halloween....average Sandler affair, not bad.
Ernest Scared Stupid...Gotta love Ernest, knowhatimean?
October 18 -
30 Days of Night...spectacular vampire flick. Love the mood, the brutality and the location.
October 19 -

Night of the Living Dead '90....I think i actually prefer this version to the original.
Dawn of the Dead...original...love its upbeat vibe, even in the most dire of situations.
