It's impossible to have one movie you like more than others.
So no, I don't have a favorite movie. I like hundreds of movies. What does that mean? I like "Midnight Cowboy", for example, more than I like "Friday the 13th, Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan", so obviously I can like one movie more than another movie. Your comment doesn't make any sense.

Yes and no....more or less I’ve had the same film as my fave but in brief moments I’ve changed it only to change back.

When people ask my favorite movie I'll general say one of the four... Frankenstein '31, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Jurassic Park or Last Temptation of the Christ. But I'm still just as obsessive over Halloween, Bram Stokers Dracula, King Kong, Pans Labyrinth, Apocalypse Now etc.

I have one clear-cut #1 film that I consider the best I’ve ever seen, and that’s Les Enfants du Paradis (1945). I hesitate to call it my favourite because it’s not a movie that I have seen all that many times, or that I would gladly re-watch any day (like I could watch Raiders of the Lost Ark for example). I have never seen "Les Enfants du Paradis" before, but I have always wanted to. I actually bought the Criterion dvd a couple months ago, but for some reason it looks like an intimidating experience to me. I suppose its the length. What can you say about it that will not give anything major away? Please tell me that it's not boring or very slow and that at the very least its beauty (and I have no doubt that it's a beautiful film) will pull me in almost immediately!
It is neither slow nor boring, and yes, it is beautiful. It helps if you understand French, as the dialogues are also beautiful. The runtime can be a bit daunting I suppose.
I first watched it probably in 1995. To celebrate the 100 years of Cinema, counting from the Lumière Brothers first public projection, the Cinematheque here organised a “festival” of sorts showing on the big screen the best 100 films of all time, as selected by a group of local critics. Les Enfants du Paradis was high up on the list (top 10). I had never heard of it. At the time my knowledge of classic movies was not very extensive. So I went to see it, and I was blown away.

It's bounced around only a couple of times during the last 15 years.

I can narrow it down to 10-15, but not under.
