But there is often a factual origin or basis for the myth. When it’s said Abraham was born in Ur and took his tribe and animals up the Fertile Crescent, down into Canaan and eventually settling in Egypt, that matches with Semitic Hyksos we know from Egyptian historical records “invaded” and otherwise settle into the Nile Delta as farmers and bond servants. It’s possible they were refugees from the Bronze Age climatic collapse. Other peoples sought refuge in Egypt that still had its dependable Nile flooding. Abraham could be a composite character of respected and wise tribal leaders who took his starving people to find food in Egypt

Imho there is too much foreign myths in the book for it not to be what it is :fiction. Work is obviously a sunthesis of plural myths, can’t be a one romanced story pardon my french.
