Several people have requested subforums to be added here. Which sports do you guys think need their own forums, and how do you propose I deal with the international differences between football and soccer? Edited to add: The Sports fans have spoken. There will be no sub-forums here until the majority changes its mind. Thank you all for your input. -John

Hmm, it may just further separate us.
However, i suggest American football be called that, and international football be called association football.

I'm all on board with sub-forms for individual sports.
Basketball Baseball Hockey Association Football? North American Football? National/International/Olympic... whatever Racing (if there's enough interest)?

Don't like that idea - I shudder to think of the loneliness of the hockey forum.

Sports on IMDb was fun because we could interact with everyone on OT threads and World competition sports. Don't divide us.

Don't divide us, I agree. It's nice to see all kinds of posts about sports I wouldn't normally see. Please don't separate the forum.

Also against sub boards...
And soccer? No, just no... it is football to 90% of the world... always has been, always will be.

I like reading about some of the sports that i don't follow much. I feel like we don't really have enough people to start sub boards yet anyway.

No sub-boards. There's already sub-boards elsewhere on the site when the main board has so few threads to begin with. What's the point?
Imagine the forum as a party in an apartment building. One floor has people talking movies, another tv, etc. Sports is one open floor. You can talk to anyone, see everyone. Putting in sub-forums is like adding walls and doors. Now you have to go knock here, knock there.
That was a problem with IMDb's boards, there were just too many. And most weren't that active. And now I see boards and sub-boards keep getting added here when there's even fewer users than on IMDb. More amalgamation should be going on, not more subdivision.

If this is to honour or mimic the IMDb boards at all then sub-boards would be a step in the wrong direction. And football is football to almost the whole world, not soccer. I still don't understand why Gridiron is called American Football when they spend 95% of the game holding the ball and there are only like 3 instances in which it will actually be kicked (and I do like the game).

It's soccer until there is a sub form claiming otherwise!
