I don't know how many people will be interested in this, but--hey--it's worth a shot...
I love Tintin, though sadly the comics are not very well-known here in the U.S. (probably more so since Spielberg's film, though). Luckily, I discovered them at just the right age (around 9 or so), at a superb camping store in upstate New York called The Mountaineer.
They have that wonderful Indiana Jones spirit of sheer adventure and self-reliance, combined with a goofy and incredibly lovable set of characters and some great plots. They appeal to the romanticist and the adventurer in me, and that achievement in a "children's comic" is remarkable.
Any other fans?
