Okay, he has this August hoodoo where he's never scored for Spurs in the month of August. He started out at eight with the Arsenal Youth Academy You must have seen the pics - that particular one taken alongside a venomous looking b*stard son of Johnny Lydon (the Irish Connection) Dodgy speaking voice? Too many teeth, oversized gums, whatever, who gives a f***? There's a few daft things with which you could dig out Kane, just like with all of us.
But let's focus on a just a couple of the positives. EPL Golden Boot Winner twice. He's done his rounds. Done the mileage. Millwall, Norwich, Orient, even f***ing Leicester when they were in the Championship years ago. Now he's enjoying a prolonged purple patch. He's worked for it. He's a grafter, what's the problem? This ain't directed at you, Painbow - far from it, it's just a post that has triggered enough in me to hold me hands up and give credit where it's due.
I've seen Runie champion the guy the last couple of seasons amidst ridicule from certain quarters on here and Kane has not let him down.
I'm beginning to think that England fans have been that starved of a genuine straightforward central striker that when one turns up, like Kane, they simply cannot grasp that, yes, he is real, at last we may look forward to having a real threat to the opposing goalkeeper in International battles. Are we that f***ing deflated from the past role call of so called England strikers that we have to continue to question the true worth of a player such as Kane? As a CFC man, I do not begrudge Kane his good form, or Spurs theirs for that matter. They are entertaining, they play good football and they seem to be getting a hold on playing at Wembley, going on the performance v Liverpool on Sunday, even given the Red's lack of defensive know-how (It makes no odds that 'er indoors is a Tottenham thoroughbred; I told her on Sunday morning that Spurs would see off 'Pool, but like a lot of Spurs disciples it's a case of "Nah, we never quite get there.")
Well, it's my f***ing view that Spurs are indeed making good tracks towards "getting there" and it's also my opinion, even this early on in the season, that they remain the main contenders to City's rampant title assault. That's an opinion, not a conviction, but they do look good.
