You've just assumed that. Never have I seen anyone say "Fox/Sony would do so much better with Captain America/Iron Man,etc". Yet the MCU mob run riot with the "bring the Xmen/F4 back to Marvel!!11". Theres a new thread opened every couple of weeks on this site campaigning for it. But not only on here, its plastered everywhere around the internet on other forum sites, youtube comments, twitter, facebook. All we want is the X-Men to be left alone at their rightful studio. Summers8 is right, everything was harmonious before the first Avengers film in 2012. Fans of all studios enjoyed others take on Spiderman, Batman, Xmen and the MCU phase 1 films. But after phase 2 started, the MCU fans became delirious and poisonous trying to trash every non-MCU film in sight (and you're the pinnacle of that example) and launching smear campaigns to no end. So it was them who threw the first punch.
Just think back and try to remember anyone complaining when Sony did Spider-Man 1 & 2 or when Fox did X-men 1 & 2.
Everything was fine. A few quibbles about Cyclops being ignored. At the time we had no idea Fox was going to continue to ignore everyone except Wolverine.
What happened after that point has everything to do with what is being said about those two studios. They earned it. They richly earned it. The idea that Fox is the "rightful studio" for X-men does not make any sense given that Marvel created the characters and thus understands them more than Fox can and that Fox has been a disaster with those characters.
It's not in anyone's imagination what Fox did to Cyclops, Storm, Colossus, Rogue, Ice Man, Angel, Deadpool, Phoenix, etc. Even in X2 they somehow made Magneto into a petty spiteful man. ("I love what you've done with your hair")
Now add in their epic fails on Silver Surfer, Galactus, and Dr Doom (twice). Fox's FF movies in general pretty much defeat this entire claim that Marvel fans are complaining without justification.
Where does any of that support Fox being the "rightful studio"? Think about this: They've had the rights to the most popular comic franchise post 1980 and have yet to get one of them above 250 million. (I don't count Deadpool since they barely seemed to care about that one) That's pathetic. Their "Wolverine and Friends" franchise has been mediocre at best post X2....embarrassing at worst. Their treatment of Deadpool should be in the dictionary next to "mishandling". Only when Fox was convinced to let RR and company make their own DP movie did they allocate a small budget and let them go. Surprise! Suddenly DP worked.
So it somehow seems out of line to criticize a studio who has wasted countless characters and made embarrassingly bad movies? That sounds like another fake reason to attack Marvel fans to me.
Now Sony somehow went completely off the rails. They made SM 1 & 2 and Marvel fans applauded them. They literally jump started the SH movie craze we now enjoy. Then came, SM 3, TASM, and TASM 2. ....You don't see why anyone would complain about that putrid output?
I mean...we literally saw how much these characters would improve if Marvel got them back. Homecoming was a vast improvement on the previous 3 Sony movies and ranks right up there with the first 2. What a coincidence, eh? So obviously Marvel understand their own characters. The idea that the X-men would befuddle Marvel is pretty absurd. Since when does Fox understand the X-men?
This idea that DC fans were just mild mannered and minding their own business until Marvel fans came along and transformed them into the bitter attack dogs we see today is a pretty incredible claim. DC fans today aren't any different than they were before.
But again...it's probably more Batman fans than DC fans. I love Superman, Flash, Green Lantern so I'm a DC fan too. Listening to Batman fans claim his superiority over all the other DC characters is a clue about where all this really comes from. Batman fans have been attacking all the other characters all along.
