Definitely lighter. I was so excited they were making a show out of one of my favorite and more underrated comic characters, only to get a poor man's Batman. If only the show had come out just a year or two later when "fun" superheroes became the new thing. To be fair, I think 'Green Arrow' was more fun in 'Smallville' and his scenes with Hawkman were hilarious and one of my favourite moments on that show. 'Smallville' had a lot of fun versions of superheroes but 'Arrow' went for a more dark and serious tone 'cause they believed it would appeal to more people.
