This. He's a man who's not only seen the worse of mankind, but also been a victim of extreme bigotry.

If the Mutant thing was anything remotely like what happened to the Jewish people (of course, it wasn't just Jewish people who died horrible deaths in WWII but hardly anyone cares) I could sympathize...but the mutant fear isn't anything like that.
