Why won't the Avengers help the "irrelevant" people?

So Stark pays all their expenses so that they can all live in a mansion and don't have to work like regular people do and like Clark Kent and Diana Prince and Barry Allen do.



And yet when irrelevant people are in need of help, it's below the Avengers pay grade to step up and help those irrelevant people who can't afford to pay for the Avengers' services.



So you're saying that famous people can't have jobs? Alex Trebek is famous, but he has a job. Gordon Ramsay is famous, but he has a job as a chef and restaurant owner.



Stark wants to make the world better so he builds a robot that kills humans? So is Stark's idea of making the world better is to kill off enough humans that there won't be a food shortage and that would solve the problem of world hunger?
