Diana is the Godkiller. Her destiny is to defeat Ares. Zeus hid Themyscira from outsiders with a "magical" mist or fog. So Zeus wasn't expecting Diana to wait her entire life for Ares to find Themyscira and then come to Themyscira to battle Diana. Zeus was expected Diana to be trained and when she was ready, leave Themyscira to find Ares and defeat Ares.

So Zeus' plan was for Diana to use the boat when she left Themyscira. That's why Zeus would give the Amazons a boat with divine powers, in addition to a lasso with divine powers. Like I said before, this isn't unusual in Greek mythology. The Gods also gave Perseus a helmet that makes the wearer invisible.

You just said the gifts from the Gods have limitations. Now you're asking why the boat had the limitation of needing to be tugged up the Thames?

Yes because me saying the gifts have limitations does not stop me from asking you to explain how exactly you justify the magic boat no longer being magical?

AAs the question stands it gives you the benefit of the doubt for the first part as in ok then boats magical but then why does the boat require a tow from such a slow tugboat to make good time, did it get tired?, does the magic only extend a few hundred miles from Themiscara? did Diana forget to charge the sodding thing? the question there is if it's magic why is it no longer magic by the time they reach London?

But then it begs the question if Diana was meant to use the magic boat to find Ares quickly then why cant it make it to London in such good time without a tow, Ares could have been anywhere.

Just admit the boat stuff is a cock up, it doesn't ruin the film or anything but is just a typical Hollywood oversight we can all have fun poking holes at, doesn't diminish the enjoyment of the film at all but it is a goof all the same and pretty much every film ever made has several of them, some are even more enjoyable because of them.

Also if you haven't check out this vid explaining why the boat stuff makes no sense it's funny and meant to be taken as a joke but still shows it's just a bunch of bollocks to move the plot along that they put no real thought into.
