Thor kills Jormungandr but only takes 9 steps before succumbing to the serpent's poison. Surtr kills Freyr. Loki & Heimdall kill one another.

Not all the Old Gods die, some survive and they move elsewhere to restart.

Ragnarok isn't the apocalyptic end of everything, it's just the end of one cycle and start of a new one.

Yeah, it sounded to me like Christians were trying to sell Christianity. All the old God's die & we restart in an idyllic garden
