I've paid attention to the amount of active users on the forum ever since IMDB closed. For consistency around the same hours (8-10pm)
In the days after IMDB went down there were roughly 230-250 users online at one time.
Then compare to the numbers in the past few days and they've been closer to 130-150 users online.
That's a hefty decline. The amount of users online in the past 24 hours has also decreased by a similar proportion.
Posts seem to be slowing down. Before I'd refresh the home page every few seconds only to see that there'd be new posts. As of right now though there hasn't been a new post in the past 3 minutes.
The forum gained 2,000 users in it's first 3 weeks by the time IMDB closed. In the 2 weeks since it's only gained another 700 users.
This is exactly what I was concerned and said was going to happen. The forum would boom following IMDB's closure as regulars would want to keep the board experience alive but over time people would get over it being gone.
Users would start to show up less, there'd be fewer posts, less activity, creating a snowball effect until the forum died. I said before I'd be surprised if the forum was still active a few months after IMDB closed down and I still see that as being a strong possibility.
