How much vulgarity is too much because you have already used a bit of the language yourself? I'm only asking because I sometimes use profanity especially when I'm in an argument with a troll. I try to avoid arguments though. It's not so much a matter of quantity - or even the profanity itself - as much as it is the intent and to whom it's being said. Note that when I wrote "fuck you," it was not directed at anyone, but rather said to make a point, as I just did again. When I said "vulgar banners," I was referring more to thread titles and signatures than the occasional use of profanity in the course of discussion. Read: support.proboards.com/post/6911591/threadSo you see, while such language is not necessarily strictly prohibited here, it really all depends on where it is being said, to whom it is being said, the context in which it is said, and the intended use of it. If a member's every post is nothing but profanity, it's quite clear that s/he is not here for actual discussion. If someone were to post any profanity whatsoever in the Children and Family Films board (for example) it will be removed without deliberation. Being a matter of discretion, the use of such language is taken on a case-by-case basis and as such, there are no one-size-fits-all answers to these questions. As I recently told someone else about a similar issue: Know your audience before you step onto the stage.
