Too bad if it's a flop. It's a great film and a wonderful follow up to the original. I'm not a huge Ryan Gosling fan but he did a stand up job in this film. I think it could have possibly done better if there was a general short (1 or 2 day) release of the BR Final Cut a week or two before 2049 came out. Might have made some new fans.
