Thor's going to have close to $120mil this weekend. What's JL going to get? $125? $130? Is that showing Ragnarok the door? I'm asking seriously, because I would think on it's face, Thor and JL being that close to equal, might be kind of concerning for DC.
Suicide Squad was dreadful yet took $133 mill.
But Thor beat WW?

I'm honestly not sure what sold SS as much as it did. Thor beating WW doesn't really shock me. I really think people overestimate how popular characters like WW are. I've never thought that was an automatic win for instance. Is she more well known? Yeah probably, but that doesn't mean anybody cares more and I think this box office result more or less proves that. WW had all the buzz you could imagine, and an additional % of female audience that Thor just doesn't get, and it was a pretty clear win. I mean like you said, SS squad crushed her and it was a terrible movie, so where is the logic here?
And I think JL is similarly a little overrated. I mean BVS didn't do as well you would think, and there's worry about JL out there. Yeah I agree it will do reasonably well at least to start, but it's a film that should be getting 150 plus pretty easy.
