That, too. It looks like the Dungeons and Dragons movie, except without the camp to make it fun. That's exactly what I mean. It really looks like it's some video game franchise. I can't get over the aquaman falls through a building and surfs out scene. Am I crazy for thinking that just looks straight up goofy? It looks goofier than anything that's happened in the MCU, except it wasn't deliberate, thus no sense of self-awareness. That's kind of what a comic book movie of this kind needs: a willingness to be fun and a full self-awareness that a movie about a billionaire who pounds poor people with his bare fists, a Greek demigoddess, Space Hercules, Aquaman, a guy who runs fast, and a robot brotha is kind of silly in and of itself. |
