It's obvious you are the one who doesn't understand things. Gamepads for consoles were poor for FPS games during the 90s, however since many years ago gamepads for consoles are awesome and massively superior to keyboard and mouse. You misunderstood what i said. obviously the 1990's with N64 were worse as that was before modern controller standards with PS1/XBox basically. i have played shooters on consoles since the more modern era and ill take a mouse+keyboard every single time as it's just easier for me to aim as i am not good enough to play shooters on consoles with a analog stick as it's simply too difficult to aim quickly enough to enjoy the game. basically i am handicapped using a analog stick to aim where as with a mouse i am as good as i can be. but aiming aside... i actually do like a controller as it's more comfortable in your hands and easier on your hands as that's what i been doing recently when playing Mafia III on the PC is for general car driving(it's definitely better for car driving than keyboard since acceleration/braking is more precise because you got more control over the acceleration/braking), and everything outside of actual shooting, i been using my wireless XBox360 controller, but when i have to shoot i sit that down and go back to the mouse+keyboard combo. p.s. i did finish playing Red Dead Redemption (on XBox360) and it was decent and all but only reason i finished that is because of the lock-on ability as if i had to aim straight up, like you normally do, there is no way i could have played that game and finished it. Playing with keyboard+mouse is boring and not fun at all. If you want even more accuracy then why not using those pens in the monitor? However, that's not fun at all. There's a reason why PC gamers can't play well with gamepads while console gamers get used easily with both choices.
