Keyboard+mouse do not feel natural at all for the large majority of gamers, and most of them already use the PC for other tasks. Gaming has nothing to do with working tasks.
it just takes less time for me to get the crosshairs on a object on the screen with a mouse than a analog stick which is why i think a mouse is much better as, like i have said, it's a large enough gap for me to where it goes from where i can play and enjoy a shooter on a PC but not on a console because of that. i am just your average person whose played games for a long time now (i was born late 1979 so i basically seen the 2D to 3D transition in the mid-to-late 1990's etc) as i am no where near pro level either as seeing those pro level players play it's amazing how quickly they can take others out.
And those pens are more accurate than keyboard and mouse, most people don't use them because it's not fun at all, the same thing regarding why most gamers prefer gamepads instead of keyboard and mouse.
shooters are not fun when your handicapped by analog stick as it's takes more time vs a mouse (if i was only slightly handicapped it would not be that big of a deal but, like i said, it's a large enough gap to where i can't enjoy the games because of it) which i would not be surprised if some of that, in why it's more difficult for me, is because of the stick always wanting to return to the center position as, while i can't say for sure, i would like to see if i was any better at a shooter on a consoles analog stick if there was no return pressure (like to return the analog stick to the center position) and it moved more freely like a mouse does as i suspect fighting against that pressure makes things even harder for me. but i guess ill never know since, to my knowledge, no one makes them like that. because it seems like fighting against that pressure makes it harder for me to make more precise movements etc. i am only speculating here but i would not be surprised if that's at least some of the reason i am noticeably worse at shooters on a analog stick.
p.s. but i think i heard they may be bring a mouse+keyboard to the XBox's semi-soon (i don't know if that's official though or not) but even if that works good i likely won't bother as i never bothered with these current generation of consoles (i.e. PS4/XBox One etc) as XBox360 is the newest console i have. but since i tend to largely play shooters it's not worth it for me to buy a console now as while there is some games i would like to play on XBox One it's not worth spending the $$$ to play maybe a game or two.
And yes, gamepads for consoles are way superior and consoles are way superior in general than PCs for gaming, that's why the vast and massive majority does prefer playing on consoles.
plus, like i already mentioned, outside of shooters, a console is definitely the all around better choice in my opinion for most people.
but i definitely disagree with the 'way superior' comment because that suggests consoles are better across the board (like PC's are almost obsolete etc) which is simply not true.
My correlation with the pen case has every logic because pens are even more accurate than keyboard and mouse, yet it's not fun at all.
Playing with keyboard and mouse is not fun for the vast majority of gamers, it has nothing to do with being more difficult or easier, it's just that people don't find it natural or fun at all.
Gamepdas for shooters or every game out there are the best choice simply because... it's extremely fun to use them.
Consoles are the best choice for the vast majority of gamers and the reasons are so many.
