Newcastle, Australia television schedule for Saturday 8 September 1979. Relatively few people live in Newcastle, so only two stations. Channel 3 is a commercial station, and channel 5A is a non-commercial station. Yes, there was a channel 5A in Australia. I have an old woodgrain mechanical TV that has such a channel as an option. Lots of sports, plus a movie, two TV movies, proto-reality shows, comedy, variety, documentary, a children's show, and a little bit of drama.
