Everyone has a PC to work with but most people don't like to play games with keyboard and mouse.
also, i am mainly referring to shooters for my support of mouse+keyboard over a controller because that's clearly the PC's best strength is more precise aiming with the mouse over the analog stick. outside of shooters... i would definitely side with the consoles for sure overall.
My correlation with the pen case has every logic because pens are even more accurate than keyboard and mouse, yet it's not fun at all.
so basically... i don't see the logic here with a pen being better than a mouse. because i just can't really see someone making a good counter argument to what i said above.
p.s. but how can one shoot at the same time using a pen? ; i have never used a pen but does it have equivalent to left and right click along with center click and the usual two side buttons which are pretty much standard on mouses for a long time now.
NOTE: also, i am talking about desktop PC's for general PC gaming as Laptops etc pretty much suck for playing games on the PC since they tend to be heavily underpowered, especially in the GPU dept. plus, Laptops are not really made to be upgraded like desktop PC's are which is another reason to avoid them. only benefit a laptop in general has over a desktop is portability as outside of that you get more power for less $$$ on a desktop etc. also, i don't see how someone is going to use a pen on a typical desktop PC anyways and if your suggesting tablet/laptop, well those are simply not made for heavy gaming.
Playing with keyboard and mouse is not fun for the vast majority of gamers, it has nothing to do with being more difficult or easier, it's just that people don't find it natural or fun at all.
for the general easier vs difficult thing... this is definitely a factor as that plays into the fun aspect as a analog stick simply handicaps me which makes things less fun. a analog stick (on a shooter game) stops me from playing to my potential which makes things less fun. with that said, i can like games to be more challenging at times but i don't want the device i use to interact with the game to be the cause of it as that's simply limiting you by the interface you use to interact with the game and not by limitations from your own talent levels. like when someone consistently beats me on a shooter on the PC they are simply a more skillful player than myself but when i lose on a console shooter, while it's still possible the person has more talent then me, it's pretty safe to say there are some players who would beat me on a console that would not if i had a mouse. like my skill level, or lack of it i should say, on a console shooter basically nearly guarantees ill be worse than AT LEAST 8 out of 10 players pretty easily (could be even more as i would not be surprised), especially if that person has been playing shooters on consoles for a while. but on the PC, while i don't know exactly where i would place it's pretty safe to say ill be higher up the PC shooter chain than i would be on the console chain. but with that said... i acknowledge i am no one special as i consider myself the average player or so on video games in general even though it's possible on some types of games i could be at least a little above average and could be below average on some as i am very confident i am below average at best when it comes to shooters on consoles as if you take a 100 random people who play console shooters at least here and there over the years you could bet money ill be on the lower half and i would not be surprised to see myself somewhere in the bottom 20 range. but with that said... even though i am pretty weak at console shooters there are people worse than me on those but ones that are noticeably worse likely rarely play video games in general ill bet as i would bet those who at least know the basic stuff in what to do will have noticeably better aim then myself on a console shooter.
also, it's simply a fact that some people out there (i don't know exact figures but technically it's safe for me to claim this much) prefer a mouse over a analog stick for shooters. but then again, given my own wording, you could apply this to the controller to.
Gamepdas for shooters or every game out there are the best choice simply because... it's extremely fun to use them.
especially when your not up to a passable level like i am not with the analog stick. because if i was handicapped by the analog stick only a bit, but i could still enjoy the overall game, then it would be passable for me. but as is, it's simply below a certain level and i cannot enjoy shooters on consoles because of that. (NOTE: keep in mind i am likely below average at best when it comes to console shooters as it's safe for me to say the easy majority (if not vast majority) will be better than me on a console shooter)
ill take a mouse every single time over a analog stick for getting the crosshairs on the target as quickly as possible as i can enjoy the game more this way as i don't have to worry about the analog stick holding me back and i am as good as i possibly can be with shooters with the mouse.
but like i already mentioned... outside of aiming at stuff on screen i like a controller more than a keyboard to as it's easier on your hands and more comfortable to use. but since aiming is paramount when it comes to shooters the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks of less comfort etc. that's why i been using my wireless XBox360 controller for everything but shooting on Mafia III as the driving is definitely better with the XBox360 controller vs the keyboard as it's more precise (especially more precise for driving around) and more comfortable to use.
Consoles are the best choice for the vast majority of gamers and the reasons are so many.
but on shooters i am polar opposite of you on this one as i don't see the benefit of using a analog stick over a mouse as it simply takes me less time to take out the targets with a mouse (basically i am playing at my max skill level with a mouse on a shooter unlike a analog stick which clearly holds me back). plus, like i mentioned... it's a significant difference for me to as it literally goes from enjoying a game to not enjoying it because it's always holding me back as it turns me from a decent player (on PC) to a below average player at best (on a console), strictly speaking shooter games.
Most people do prefer consoles because they are the best gaming platform. People don't give a crap about which graphic card or sound cad they need to use, people just want to play games. And games for PCs many times have illogical problems of compatibility. So not only it's not as gun as consoles it's a chore.
Where are the best rated games? Consoles.
Where are the most popular games? Consoles
Which ones have the best sells by far? Consoles.
This is not a coincidence.
