Well, I wouldn't have any of these, but I went to a diner in Paris once that had "American meal" on the menu.
"Nice," I thought. "I want an American meal."
It was a hamburger patty (no bun) with a fried egg on top.
There were at least 2000 potato chips with it on the plate (I may be exaggerating).
I think they thought they'd kinda nailed American taste - and compared to French, I think they came pretty close.
I ate it.
