On the outbreak of World War II, Barker served in the United States Navy as a fighter pilot. However, the war ended before he was assigned to a seagoing squadron. After the war, he returned to Drury to finish his education, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in economics.[1]
I can see where iamnotarobot is coming from. from all the weird stuff bob barker did [as if he owned the freaking show, he was just the emcee!] from the no leather shoes to the firing of models for weight gain and/or more moronic things, you have to wonder where this my hay or the highway came from.
GUYS.. OUCH! upon reading the Wikipedia of bob barker, it turns out he should join the queue for 'I was a douchebag boss in Hollywood'
Dian Parkinson left the show in 1993, supposedly to "pursue other interests", as host Bob Barker announced during her final appearance.[6]
The following year (1994), Parkinson filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court (case no. BC106366) against Barker for sexual harassment, claiming a three-year sexual relationship was extorted by threats of firing from The Price Is Right which resulted in a miscarriage. The suit was withdrawn in April 1995, Parkinson claiming it was too costly and had taken a toll on her health.[7]

and he fired my favorite model on TPIR for gaining a shocking 14 lbs due to rx meds she needed to take. and she also wouldn't not stand with him during his trial with Dian.
really, I knew bob was a cutthroat when it came to things being just so but really? he fired people left and right for whatever reasons.... from weight gain, to refusing to stand with him during trial 1, to testifying against him during trial 2. I am surprised he didn't fire Janice after a camera hit her and she fell off the stage resulting in many scars and one shoulder shorter than the other. he did however let her go without even shaking her hand goodbye.
