In 1980 or 81, I met him at a sci-fi bookstore in Berkeley. He signed his awful book for me. There weren't many of us there, and he told a story about when Persis Khambatta got her head shaved for Star Trek: The Motion Picture and was crying. He said he was caressing her head to comfort her, but it turned him on. Thought he was a bit of a sleaze. Probably was thinking of a different kind of head.
I no longer own this.
