My moral compass would go something like this... if it warrants a right hook, then it should probably be a crime.
Now admittedly I only just came up with that, so I don't know if it fits EVERY situation, but I think if some grabbed your partner's arse or your daughter's arse you would feel quite rightly justified in giving them the 'fist of justice'. (Whether you would or not I guess depends on your restraint, how big the other guy is, whether you wanted the possible legal aggro, all that kind of stuff, but you would probably FEEL like punching them which is the point here).
