As I wrote earlier today in another post on a different thread:
"Most of the time, I'd prefer to pay very little attention to politics, because it just annoys me--the stuff that people care about, the standard views on that stuff, etc. I tend to not agree with any mainstream group on any side. As a relative lone loon, I can't do anything about it--views go in big social waves, so it's difficult for a single individual who is a significant outlier to have any impact. I'd need to finely craft a far more manipulative tactic to try to influence anything, but that's too much work for possibly zero reward. So I'd rather not bother with it and not be annoyed/frustrated."
