It is excellent dramatic viewing. Long but engrossing and full of power and emotion. I prefer it to The Godfather, in the sense that the first part involves an extended wedding sequence. It contains my favorite DeNiro performance and a lovely feminine performance by Meryl Streep, that is very natural, unlike some of her later more calculated headspace technical performances.
