While "Scalps" might be low-rent, and scuzzy, still there's a real surreal atmosphere and sinister sting to its tail that lends well to its raw, off-kilter supernatural slasher quality. Definitely one of my favourite films by Fred Olen Ray. His work (especially 80s & 90s) has really grown on me over time.
