This one has likely already been discussed on here, but for me, Part 3 is the best of the sequels and I perhaps prefer it to the original. It has some inventive, creative and imaginative dream sequences; a well thought out script; a solid cast with interesting and likeable characters that you can care about, some interesting deaths and violence—with the exception of Will's demise, which I thought was poorly executed and weak. You could see the cables on the killer wheelchair, and the fantasy wizard part and kill was almost kiddy PG level—nice production design that complements both the style and substance of the film and strong direction. I think the series really ended here when Freddy was laid to rest. His resurrection in Part 4 was just ridiculous and the subsequent sequels just got a bit silly, tiresome and even boring, like Part 5. The series only really got a new lease on life with the terrific Freddy vs Jason-03'.
