**somewhat spoilery below if you haven't seen the previous season** Hirundo, we’ve gotten a shorter/different version of the trailer on TV here to the one you linked to. What got my attention was Lagertha saying “Now I can die.” – which had me worried (then again, I worry every season about Lagertha being killed off). I then watched that^ trailer you linked to and it really hasn’t done anything to alleviate my fears. Then again, they’re almost being *too* obvious about Ivar killing her. He goes on about holding a grudge against her for offing his mother (nevermind the fact that when Aslaug bit the dust, she did it with a smile on her face, quite clearly indicating that she was either expecting it, or that she knew what would come of it). I was surprised so many people held that action against Lagertha – especially considering probably a fair percentage of those same people never liked Aslaug beforehand anyway. At this point, it’d almost be more unexpected if Lagertha survives/lives on, since they’ve been rather heavy-handed with pretty much everything pointing to her death. I’m not sure whether I’d still be into the show if she was killed off. No other female character in the series can hold a candle to her (try as some might). And, of course, she got the best line in the trailer: “You can try.” (in regards to Ivar swearing to kill her). I’m both interested in this season...and kind of dreading it. I hope Michael Hirst hasn’t fallen in love with writing for Ivar so much that he has him just kill everyone and never get beaten (this happens a lot with characters in shows – the writers just enjoy writing for them so much/love the actors so much to the detriment of the storytelling). It will be interesting seeing Jonathan Rhys Meyers in this show (who I'm sure you're looking forward to, Hirundo ), since it'll be only the second show that I've seen him in (the first being The Tudors, which I only recently finished watching for the first time on DVD not too long ago). Here's hoping Lagertha gets a new pet to add to her menagerie she's already collected. ![]()
