The death of Valjean and the seque to the barricades with all the fallen heroes/heroines singing DO YOU HEAR THE PEOPLE SING!
Director Tom Hooper shared an unusual experience about this -- during the first public screening right before its public release, he was disturbed by unusual sounds when the scene was unfolding. He thought he had missed some sound errors when he was editing the movie...until he realized that what he was hearing was the sound of people crying while watching the finale
