I was just curious as to what aspects you like more about the others. While I think the first Elm St. is the best, Part 3 is my favorite to watch. That is if one considers best and favorite to be mutually exclusive regarding film. I didn't like the remake at all, but I preferred Freddy's Dead over Part 5. It was more fun and entertaining. Part 5 has a superficial visual style about it that I don't like, and I find many aspects of it uneven, unlikable, boring and even derivative. The deaths became over the top and silly and while they were attempting to be inventive and slick, it wasn't really the Freddy we knew from the first few installments, where his knives caused most of the slashing and mayhem. It was a self-conscious effort to make a stylized Freddy movie and I think it lost some soul or even heart in the process. I liked the director's Predator 2 so much better. Really I guess its just entertainment value. Part 3 has a few slow scenes like when Dr.Gordon meets with the nun. I think some of the slower sequences, and they are only brief, is what consolidates Part 3 and lifts it. Wasson is a good actor and he makes it work. The Nun sequences allow some depth of narrative and even provides a minor twist at the end. Part 3, is well balanced within the fun horror elements, and the more dramatic scenes that give the film it's substance. A solid presentation and technically the end of Freddy. Bringing him back with firey Dog pee was absurd.
