the Romans saw him (under the name of Mars) as one of the greatest gods, Its not surprising that the Romans saw the God of War as 1 of the greatest gods since the Romans were conquerors and honored great Generals (like Julius Caesar). Also, the Romans were pretty bloodthirsty. The favorite "sport" of Romans was watching gladiators fight in the Colosseum. |
