I don't agree that Avengers was a crappy movie, I think it was a terrific movie. Sadly the bar slipped in AoU to dreadful.

I admit ignorance on Tony Stark comic book history. Someone else out there know whether in all his work with SHIELD if Howard Stark studied the Cosmic Cube?
I know it first appeared in 1966.

Howard Stark first appears in 1970.

The New Gods appeared in 1971.

I never collected Iron Man comics.
