A British crime show aimed at the US market. Anthony Quayle starred as the ex-cop turned PI who, assisted by Kaz Garas and Anneke Wills, used deduction and forensics rather than guns and fists. Its colourful and slightly dotty vision of the UK is still a joy to behold but never descends into camp as "The Avengers" eventually did.
Sadly, only one series was ever made because Anthony Quayle didn't want to go to the US to make a second.
Incredibly, thanks to the ITV regional network franchise system, there are people in the UK who still have never seen it.
Highly recommended.
