Should kids & family movies have gay characters?

This makes no sense to me.

Only putting straight characters in your movies is equally divisive. So by your logic, nobody should do that either. Which would mean that nobody should make kids and family movies at all.

I take that as a reductio ad absurdum which demonstrates that your premise is flawed.
