William Shakespeare's tragedies also followed a formula involving larger than life heroes with a fatal flaw making a grave mistake, suffering a reversal of fortunes, learning their lesson, then going to make things right, and then dying in the process (along with a fair number of other people). There were a couple of exceptions to this rule, but you'll notice it in most of them. The Bard, considered one of the most brilliant writers of all time used formulas and a lot of common tropes in his writing. Yet you always act like the MCU is committing some kind of cardinal sin.
