Movies ; that has to be my all around favorite if your forcing me to pick only one as the quality movies tend to be of higher volume vs quality music (as in music ill go out of my way to listen to). still, quality music is great in that it has solid effect on you with not much time spent etc.
but i think if i had to rank the four it would probably be like this...
1.Movies (quality movies simply cannot be beat in terms of time spent vs overall enjoyment. although a quality song can be quite good and uses very little of your time which is one of the main reasons Music still has some weight for me against Movies.)
2.TV Shows (well good ones anyways of which they are a limited amount. most TV shows i see are generally of the disposable entertainment kind and are a decent way to pass time.)
3.Music (these can be quite good occasionally and does not need much of your time which is why i would expect Music to rank #1 with a wide range of people)
4.Books (definitely the weak link of the four overall as it's the one that would be easiest to live without and i can't see this being chosen over Movies(or other visual medium) or Music by most people simply because, of which i would assume, visual/audio stuff tends to have more appeal to most people than purely reading text on paper. with that said... i realize some people like reading books but maybe they have a stronger imagination then most people(?) and that helps makes those more interesting for them(?) or maybe they like the quiet time etc.)
but my 2nd and 3rd choices may interchange as it sorta depends on how i look at things and to what TV shows i compare to etc. like if i compared most casual TV shows i watch vs hearing casual music... ill DEFINITELY side with the casual TV shows over the Music as it's clear i would get more overall enjoyment out of them. but if you compare music ill go out of my way to listen to, to casual TV shows it sorta becomes more debatable to me in that the music ill go out of my way to listen to will basically give me more enjoyment but at the same time casual TV shows, like ones that are good disposable entertainment, tend to pass more time so in a way they are better because there is not too much music ill go out of my way to listen to. so as the years pass the casual TV shows, on average, would be the safer choice for me. still, quality music can be great at times. but then you got those more higher quality drama types of shows which when looking at the higher tier ones those are hard to beat because of the enjoyment you get out of them and it lingers for a while since it's hours of your time where as with music it tends to be much shorter which in a way is a bad thing as while that whole 'music spends little of your time to solid enjoyment level' is basically true, that can also be a negative in that it does not last long like how TV shows/Movies last noticeably longer so your being entertained for a longer period of time etc.
just some random thoughts as i am sure people could come up with a fair amount of arguments between these things.

vs movies?
I would think it's the other way around because with a movie you got about 2 hours to show/say what you need to (so they won't spend too much time on things) and with a TV show that takes many hours of which things will have to be more drawn out(i.e. slow things down a bit). so while both can be slower here and there than each other i would imagine your typical more serious TV show will have more slow time than your typical movie on an average.
i realize with TV shows things can go into more detail with character development etc, which can be a plus, but i would think a typical movie will on average be of faster pace than a comparable TV show.
but come to think of it... maybe TV shows feel faster paced to you because they, at least a typical episode, are only 1 hour tops where as a movie is typically 1.5hours+. so if your say watching 1 episode a week of a random TV show i can see how that might feel faster because it's spending less time. but i guess it probably boils down to pacing as if something drags, be it a TV show or Movie, that can make it feel like forever where as if if your really enjoying something, time passes pretty quickly even at a longer length.
with all of that said... i can't say your wrong though simply because you could make some decent arguments in favor of TV shows (like i partially did above). but then again i also made some good points in favor of movies pacing.
p.s. i am assuming we are talking about more serious types of TV shows in comparison to movies in general and non of that more disposable entertainment like reality TV etc which i think is generally quicker paced but i don't compare these to movies because looking more long term when i watch a Movie or TV show my ultimately goal is to find ones that ill want to re-watch from time-to-time as the years pass as anything of any real worth tends to have that effect as one that do not are ultimately forgettable.
