X-men was a predominantly PG-13 rated series which now has two R rated movies in it.
Deadpool was not made by Fox, it was made by Reynolds and then Fox took credit for it.
Marvel have yet to make an R rated movie out of 17 movies and none of their revealed upcoming movies will be either.
There's no need, whereas Fox needed to co-opt Deadpool's style because they had no other ideas.
Marvel have yet to make a horror movie.
Why should they? They've done other genres the X-Movies were afraid to do.
Plenty of main characters have been killed off in the X-men series including Wolverine, Professor X, Storm, Cyclops and Jean Grey.
Logan and Xavier don't count, and the others were undone.
