Granted, but--as far as I know, and I'm no expert, so correct me if I'm wrong--it was never this bad before. Perhaps my attribution of blame to the movies is incorrect, and it's more the fault of the Internet, but I will say I was never aware of the feuding being so bad before the modern era.
