Fox don't make movies, they distribute them and they did so with a R rated movie that's part of the X-men brand. And in this case, they wanted nothing to do with Reynolds' project and just gave him money to stop bothering them. When it turned out to be a success they swooped in to take all the credit. They already had that, little need to do a skin flick where plot is substituted for buckets of blood and gore. Not if it's some future AU unconnected to the current timeline. Doesn't matter. Earth was destroyed in the original timeline of Dr Strange so he created a new one. I don't see you saying that the MCU killed off all of Humanity. Off-screen in some unconnected future AU. Why is it okay to do this but not to kill the Warriors 3?
