MWC was such a breath of fresh air when it first appeared after years of cuddly and insipid family sitcoms which were all the rage in the mid-80's. Absolutely subversive. Unfortunately, after a couple of good seasons it became very stale and formulaic, relying on the same half-dozen character jokes, e.g. Kelly's dumb, Al hates women (except hot ones), Bud jerks off all the time, etc.
