It is, but I wrote that they shouldn't go overboard with it. Mulan didn't hit audiences over the head in a way that their more recent Moana did. Mulan felt like a story with thematic content in it, while Moana felt agenda-driven to a point of becoming annoying. Disney movies in general have become less and less subtle.
