Too bad if it's a flop. It's a great film and a wonderful follow up to the original. I'm not a huge Ryan Gosling fan but he did a stand up job in this film. I think it could have possibly done better if there was a general short (1 or 2 day) release of the BR Final Cut a week or two before 2049 came out. Might have made some new fans. I was pleasantly surprised with this Blade Runner sequel and went to see it twice. Box office is not always the measure of an excellent and layered presentation. BR 2049, pretty much ticked many boxes for me. It might have been long; but none of it appeared like wasted and superfluous time. |
