Should kids & family movies have gay characters?

What can they learn from gay characters when there is so much to apprehend from the well performed violence war and gore displayed everyday as common behaviour? Affection for another human being? As far as I last checked kids & family movies don't display sex scenes, hetero or gay, or at least they shouldn't. Give me a break!

By the way, Batman and Robin?... They never fooled me those two...

(Not to mention that everyone seems to be at ease with the love affair between Beauty and her beast)
